Adding healthy snacks to your diet can only lead to more health!
Today I had to go out again,, so I prepared all of my food in the morning, so it I could eat while I was cruzin' around. I made a shake of;
2 apples
2 hand fulls of kale
a hand full of spinach
a scoop of Vegan Vitamin Powder
It really wasn't very good...but I try not to waste so I drank it...I put in way too much kale. Note to self- Too much kale makes the smoothie NOT smooth..I chewed my drink today...blah!
I did do something good though. I juiced with my wonderful Champion Juicer. That was a treat.
I juiced 2 liters of Cantelope juice,
2 liters of Apple juice.
*I did a combination of carrots, celery, and ginger root.
I had a snack of Raw Veggies;
Red pepper
Cucumber
Snap peas
Broccoli
Cherry tomatoes
I also had a small clump of green grapes..yumm. All crisp and sweet.
Benefits of Green grapes
Not only are grapes a good source of vitamins A and C, but you’ll also find vitamin B6 and folate in these fruits of the vine. And that’s not all. Minerals like potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, and selenium, as well as trace amounts of copper, manganese, and zinc are also present in grapes. What’s more, you’ll also get some fiber and protein from grapes.
While these vitamins and minerals are vital to your health, the truly spectacular health benefits are found in the other compounds contained in grapes. Recent research has been all abuzz over these newly discovered grape components.
Flavonoids
Have you ever wondered how certain fruits and vegetables get such vibrant colors? The answer is flavonoids. Flavonoids are very powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants work to prevent and counteract the damage caused by free radicals. When it comes to antioxidants, flavonoids are your best bet.
The flavonoids are found abundantly in grapes, and are showing great promise when it comes to cardiovascular disease, cancer, age-associated disorders, and other illnesses and symptoms. In short, what do grapes have to do with your health? Everything.
Today I didn't drink enough water, and I am feeling achy all over. Sluggish inside. I am detoxing today it seems and my body needs a TLC day I guess. It didn't help that I was out. Along with the hyperbaric chamber I am doing an Infrared sauna session afterward.. which also draws toxins out of your cells........so today I am super toxifyed. Ouch! Toxins are running rampint through my system..ahhhhhhhhh!! lol Tomorrow I am going to get lots of rest and drink lots of water..so I can eliminate the toxins from my system.
I also got some Hemp Protien powder today, so I will be blogging on that soon.
Live Happy.. Live in Light...

Thanks for the info on grapes - I didn't know about all that! I'm sorry you're so toxic right now. I know the feeling all too well. It will pass soon and you'll go from feeling like you're slouched on the bottom of the barrel, to feeling like you're standing on the roof about to fly off! During dramatic dietary changes or fasts or feasts or what have you, you're gonna go through highs and lows. I'm sure you know all that. Just remember one of my favorite sayings: "This too shall pass." :) And the blogging community is 100% behind you! You can do it!!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely would be tough to eat like this all the time...I might be able to make it a month. Best wishes for success...
ReplyDeleteMy TwT post
what kind of blender are you using? i invested in a VitaMix 5000 last year and it is seriously sooooooo fantastic. Kale gets blended into a smoothie, no chunks. In the meantime try blending the greens FIRST with a little water (or a lot) and then adding the other smoothie ingredients in afterwards. Then you know for sure your greens are well-blended!
ReplyDeletep.s. if you ever head into Vancouver try out Gorilla Foods Raw restaurant on Richards down by Harbour Centre (400 block of Richards, I think*) - yummy raw food, and affordable.
*Haylee* Thanks for the encouragement, there are definitely highs and lows during detox. I am feeling better all the time though..i am so glad I made the choice to do this.
ReplyDelete*N* I am using a 1000 watt commercial blender right now..and I will be getting a Vitamix5000 soon..it is on my wish list of things I will be getting ;)
I always start my blending with about 2 cups of water in the blender then I do my kale and spinach..then add apples and the rest of the fruit. I just list it like that for myself so I keep track of what I have ingested.
Why don't you come over to the mainland and go with me to Gorilla foods... :) sounds great! I will check it out when I get out there again..I dont stray to the big city much..lol
This great you're having raw foods..an encouragement to me..
