Day 4 of my Raw Vegan Diet

My Momma always said that veggies were good for me...

Last night I tried to make a smoothie made of all vegetables. Well this seems like an easy thing to do...mix various fresh produce and make something that tastes amazing...after all smoothies are delicious ...are they not? Umm..
I had this wise friend that once told me..." Don't try and mix too many things together at won't taste very good". She was very smart..I should have listened to her advice...However I didn't and I made this concoction.

3 beautiful red tomatoes
1 carrot
1 green onion
1/2 a small cucumber
hand full of lettuce
cayenne pepper

I had all I could do to drink this and keep it down. I think I went wrong with the green onion.
I am going to stick with a basic Tomato Soup Smoothie recipe....It is much better.

I am realizing that in the evenings I don't have very much time to blog, so I am going to sometimes blog a day behind.

Yesterday ..which was my day 4..
For breakfast and lunch I had a smoothie;

1 apple
1 banana
2 pineapple spears
1/4 cucumber
hand full of kale
1/2 a scoop of vegan vitamin supplement powder

For snack I had a salad of red and green pepper, red onion, tomatoes and cucumber.
..and for evening snack I had seeds and nuts mixed together. Sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, cashews and peanuts. ( I didn't eat very many peanuts because of all the nuts they seem the most acidic for our body..but I still like to have a few mixed in there).

Yesterday I felt sick most of the day after I ate the yucky veggie smoothie , but I felt fine before that. I have been drinking lots of water throughout the day and have been going to the bathroom frequently. I still haven't had any coffee cravings...which is good. Warm water with lemon in a mug seems to satisfy my physical enjoyment of the coffee drinking experience. and as for the caffeine..I was reading on a naturopathic site yesterday
It was funny to read the Chocolate craving part because I usually always crave chocolate...and I have't since I started eating lots of veg and fruit and seeds and nuts. I thought it was an interesting site. I am happy that my usual cravings are gone...and I am not hungry at all..I am totally satisfied! Well except for that veggie shake of was awful! lol...


  1. I'm pretty sure there are all sorts of online recipes for smoothies too. I know raw reform is a great site for information and has great links on it as do Aleesha's and Nicole's sites.

  3. The Muppet picture was Drew's idea..I know I know.. We are cool like that! LOL
    We are all about the fun and good energy at this house. =)
    I have been looking up lots of recipes online..and following links like a monkey chasing a banana..hehee.. I know there are many delicious recipes. I was just being a goober and throwing everything in. The only reason there weren't bananas in it was because people started looking at me funny, when i suggested it might make it taste better...hahaha..I am such a freak, no wonder they were looking at me funny.;)
